     Anonymous Medicine...what's it all about?

Hashing Functions like MD5 make it possible to keep medical records in such a way that they are visible only to the patient, and not to the medical or computer staff of the project, or anyone else. This anonymity has already achieved popularity with some tests, AIDS in particular where there are considerable social risks from even taking the test. By extending the range of medical services offered in this anonymous fashion some economic improvements can be expected and greater patient acceptance of some tests also. There are some economic realities that are required even for very low cost medicine, and gathering many offerings in one umbrella group offers skilled risk management along with mutual advertising.

The other pages describe some of the computer services suggested. The basic notion is to offer a way of managing telemedicine to manage the risk of the computer part of the operations.

Anon-med does only the computer part of the operation. In a hearing test application, for example, only the recording and calculation and automatic interpretation belongs here. If there is a doctor who is using our information to advise or diagnose a patient then there are two quite separate elements of risk and complexity. Anon-med does not employ or recommend or interface with doctors, nurses and technicians in any special way, they are just users and the patient has given them access to their data.

Most telemedicine implementations employ medical people to provide human advice and contact. Our purpose is to provide a global network of high quality telemedicien applications that can be used widely and interpreted, if necessary, by medical personnel quite separate from Anon-med.
